15 March 2019 | 12:10pm | Adam Concert Room
A concert part of the New Zealand School of Music's 2019 Lunchtime Concert Series, featuring works by Janáček, Beethoven, and NZ composer Natalie Hunt.
Janacek’s Quartet No. 1 ‘Kreutzer Sonata’ is based on the Kreutzer novella of the same name, drawing on themes of love, jealousy and murder. Beethoven’s last string quartet, Opus 135 shows him looking forward to a new style, which refers to classical lightness, but with remarkable twists and turns. Natalie Hunt’s Data Entry Groove offers a walk on the jazzy side.
Turn up early to get a good seat!
