Newly released Naxos CD

27 February 2019 / News

Our new CD, Brahms Quintets 1 and 2, was launched during the Adam Chamber Music Festival. Released under the Naxos label, which is recognised globally as a leading producer of classical music recordings, we are tremendously proud of this work. What’s more, this is the first recording with Monique which makes it very special indeed. Generous funding support from the Victoria Research Trust and private donors made the recording possible. We’re also very lucky to have benefitted from the technical expertise and editing of producers Bonnie and Norbert Kraft in Canada. For this project, we were joined by violist Maria Lambros. Maria is a faculty member at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore and a wonderful chamber musician who has performed to international acclaim in groups such as the Mendelssohn String Quartet and New York-based ensemble La Fenice. The new Brahms Quintets 1 & 2 CD is the final Brahms recording in a 3-CD project with Naxos, which has spanned 5 years. The other CDs are Brahms Quintet No. 3 and the Clarinet Quintet, and Brahms String Quartets Nos. 1 & 2.

All are available to purchase here.
