This year’s national tour in August/September will see us perform four carefully curated programmes of groundbreaking works which each, in their own way, have affected the future of string quartet composition.
The New Zealand String Quartet and opera singer Jared Holt join forces to premiere a new song cycle, In Memoriam, by New Zealand composer Janet Jennings - settings of poems by poet and soldier Edward Thomas, who was killed in the Battle of Arras in 1917.

The kaleidoscope of works will comprise of composers close to Britten’s heart who have had a profound influence on his writing.
