Adam Summer School 2016

February 2016

2016 will be the 22nd year for the the Adam Summer School for Chamber Musicians. 28 talented young musicians have been invited to join the school in 2016. Running from the 6th - 14th February in Nelson, tutored by the members of the New Zealand String Quartet and Diedre Irons. 

 The 28 young musicians accepted are made up of -

11x violinists 7x violists 7x cellists 3x pianists

Arranged into seven groups: two piano trios, one piano quartet, two string quartets, and two viola quintets. They will be working on repertoire by composers, Beethoven, Brahms, Dvořák, Fauré, Haydn, Shostakovich, Mozart and Schubert.

A series of masterclasses will be open to the public, free of charge, each evening except Thursday, and the school will culminate in two Finale Concerts on Sunday 14 February to showcase the talents of these outstanding young chamber musicians.
