Turning Points Queenstown

August 2018

Join us at the exclusive Lodge at the Hills for a special evening of fine wine and music, including complimentary Cloudy Bay wines and canapés. The concert will feature groundbreaking works that have each taken the quartet genre in new directions, including Beethoven’s extraordinary opus 131 quartet, which Robert Schumann felt stood “...on the extreme boundary of all that has hitherto been attained by human art and imagination." Also included is Smetana’s poignant, semi-autobiographical “From My Life” and the extraordinary Abhisheka by New Zealand’s own John Psathas.

NZSQ cellist Rolf Gjelsten says:

"We’re looking forward to sharing with you the genius and vision of these works as well as elucidating the qualities which make each work so remarkable."
