On The Road Again

14 April 2015 / News

Even before the Composer Connections tour commences, we’ll be back on the road with Chamber Music New Zealand this week. This time it’s to four of our favourite centres - Motueka, Blenheim, Waikanae and Rotorua as part of the 2015 Encompass Season, presented in conjunction with the local chamber music societies in each region.

We’re presenting three programmes of string quartets from the 18th - 20th centuries accompanied by our own introductions to each piece, aimed at inviting new audiences in as well as giving our experienced listeners fresh insights into the music.

Chamber Music New Zealand says of our concerts “These glowing programmes of works from across the centuries of the great string quartet repertoire will resonate with chamber music fans everywhere.”

While our 2nd Violinist Doug Beilman’s finger is almost back to 100% strength, the injury prevented him from being able to rehearse fully in the crucial lead up time to the tour. His place will be ably filled once again by our colleague Donald Armstrong, Associate Concertmaster of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

The tour will take place between Thursday 16 and Tuesday 21 April.
