Michael Norris wins SOUNZ Contemporary Award

04 November 2014 / News

The New Zealand String Quartet warmly congratulates NZ composer Michael Norris on receiving the SOUNZ Contemporary Award at last week’s APRA Silver Scroll Awards. Michael’s winning composition, Inner Phases, was premiered by the New Zealand String Quartet and the Forbidden City Orchestra at the New Zealand Festival in February this year. Our NZSQ players relished the opportunity to work with Michael on this extraordinary cross-cultural, multi-media work and hope the piece will enjoy a ‘long and prosperous life’!
