A lunchtime concert at the University of Auckland School of Music featuring the NZSQ with American pianist Diane Walsh. The concert features Schubert's dramatic Quartettsatz and Elgar's highly expressive Piano Quintet of 1918.
American pianist Diane Walsh has been awarded many honors including the top prizes at the Munich ARD International Piano Competition and the Salzburg International Mozart Competition and further prizes at the Ferruccio Busoni, Van Cliburn and William Kapell competitions. Highlights of her career include recitals at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, Wigmore Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Philharmonia Great Hall in St. Petersburg. Recent reviews have praised her "soulful outpouring," "intelligent virtuosity" and "exquisite care and loving touch."
