Adam Summer School - Application

Applications have closed for the 2020 Adam Summer School.

Students attending should be tertiary level and above however consideration will be given to all interested applicants. Individual students accepted for the School will be placed in groups following the auditions.

Criteria for selection:

• Provide 15 minutes or more of playing (within the last 6 months)
• Two contrasting styles to demonstrate highest technical and musical level
• String players may submit either unaccompanied repertoire or works with piano
• Pianists must submit solo repertoire
• Identify recording by type of instrument and the works performed only
• As inclusion in the Adam Summer School will be determined by audition recording, care should be taken to prepare audition recordings to a very high standard. To ensure the selection process is fair and transparent, tutors will listen to recordings 'blind'.

ALL RECORDINGS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 5PM FRIDAY 25 OCTOBER 2019

Course fees are $640 inc GST per student, which includes all tuition, venues, accommodation and meals. No payment is required at the time of application. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due for payment within 7 days of notification of acceptance. The balance of fees is due for payment by Friday 31st January 2020. Students are required to arrange and pay for their own travel to and from Nelson. 

A limited number of scholarships are available to Summer School students who require assistance with course fees. Please apply in writing to the Manager, New Zealand String Quartet Trust, outlining your request for financial assistance. Your letter should be emailed to nzsq@nzsq.org.nz or posted to P O Box 8071, The Terrace, Wellington 6143. All requests for financial assistance will be treated confidentially and must be received no later than 5pm Friday 25th October 2019.
